Champagne Region in France to Expand in 2008 - The 200 inhabitants of the French village of Magneaux are part of an eager group of outsiders pressing to join the elite champagne grape growers of the $7 billion champagne industry this year. A 80-year-old rule that delineates the official Champagne zone in France is about to be changed to include new territory, potentially allowing farmers like those in Magneux to sell grapes for Champagne with the French seal of approval, the "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée," or A.O.C. The decision to include new regions for the official designation of Champagne could make these farming families into eventual millionaires. We just hope they celebrate with our champagne glass sunglasses!

September 2008 - The USA largest Oktoberfest is in Cincinnati, Ohio. Cincinnati is Munich, Germany's sister city. Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati, which began in 1976 as a block party, now draws over half a million. The festival's signature event, the World's Largest Kazoo Band and Chicken Dance is a sight to behold! August 2008 -A big slice of Wedding Cake given to Moyra Smith by the Royal Chef for Princess Diana and Prince Charles will go to auction on August 27 at the Dominic Winter Book Auctions in Glos, United Kingdom. The 27-year-old slice of wedding cake celebrated the ill fated marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. The wedding cake piece is decorated with the couple's Royal Coat of Arms.
