In April 2008, Paris Hilton was told to stay away from the opening of British designer Alexander McQueen's new Los Angeles boutique. He remarked, "The people who wear McQueen wear it because they want to wear it, not because it's the new thing in town. McQueen is a red carpet fashion designer with clients such as Victoria Beckham, Sienna Miller, Katie Holmes and Lucy Liu.

In early April, 'Pezheads' around the world came to California's Silicon Valley to view a rare pineapple Pez dispenser. It was one of hundreds on display at the Burlingame Museum of Pez Memorabilia. Others included: Bugs Bunny, Darth Vader and Elvis Presley. Pez's popularity spawned a 2006 documentary, Pezheads the Movie, at least nine collecting guides and an annual conventions across the USA. The museum has at least one of every dispenser sold to the public since 1927, some costing thousands of dollars. It also exhibits Pez-branded items from posters to vitamins to vending machines. It's true!
