No, the Wollman Ice Rink operates as an ice skating facility only during the winter months and there is a charge for skate rental.

Outdoor Musicians in Central Park

Live music performances are common inside New York City's Central Park. Here, a jazz quartet performs on the west side of the Olmsted Flower Bed. Note the absence of an amplifying device or speaker. The instruments the musicians are not wired to produce electrified music. These musicians are a group of dozens of musicians who pick locations in the park and simply play for the people passing by them in the park. Without the use of amplifiers, musicians do not need permits to perform in Central Park. If they would like to play with amplified sound, a permit is required. Permits are issued for a particular location and for a particular day and for particular set of hours. Refunds are not offered in the event that inclement weather forces the cancellation of the performance.
