These are examples of the Chinese silk lanterns that are strung above and all around the perimeter of the outdoor Terrace at New York City's landmark restaurant, the Tavern on the Green.
The Terrace features different shapes of lanterns: some are cylindrical, some are conical and others are double-pyramind type. The designers vary the colors as well. Shown here is an example of three typical shapes and colors: red, yellow and base black.
