This is a close up of just part of the upper facade of the magnificent Dakota building. Did you know that the surface of the limestone and brick of the famous building was cleaned in the 1990s? The results were startling and superb. While most New Yorkers and visitors knew the Dakota to be a dark terracota or maroon color back then, the restoration revealed the original color of the stone to be so much more cream or blonde. The color opened up the building to a more friendly place, right about at the same time the entire City of New York resurged. Thank you for searching for condos for sale in the Dakota building in Manhattan.
