This is a view looking northward almost through the wisteria pergola at the entrance to Central Park at West 72nd Street.

There are twin pergolas at the 72nd Street entrance to the park. One is north and the other is south -- both are beautiful! There are other pergolas inside Central Park of course. There is another just down the hill from this location alongside the lake. There is another behindthe Naumberg Bandshell and another up in the Conservatory Garden at 105th Street on the east side along Fifth Avenue.

Picnic Tables in Central Park

Picnic tables are located in only a few places in Central Park. One of these locations is the Ross Pinetum Playground. This is on the west side of the park at West 85th Street. For children of all ages. This playground, located at the northwest corner of the Great Lawn (84th Street), features regular swings and bucket swings, chin-up bars, and has a large picnic area in a beautiful pine tree setting. The nearest bathroom to this area is the Delacorte Theater.

Fun Stuff from our magazine!		New Champagne Growers Will Be Named in 2008 - The world's sparkling wine industry is at peace. Grapes grown within the narrowly defined Champagne region of France can only be used to make what can be called, "champagne." For while the grapes grown to create the bubbly champagne are merely common grapes: chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier, the French authority that designates the region's farms assigns the cachet of the name "champagne". In order to meet global demands for increased champagne production the Authority will designate farmlands nearby the "official" region with the right to produce grapes for the production of champagne. Let's hope the new farmers all celebrate by wearing our champagne glass sunglasses!

September 2008 - David and Victoria Beckham were the stars of the show on Broadway in New York City. Were they performers in a Broadway play or musical? No! They debuted their perfume lines at Macy's Herald Square on lower Broadway. The couple signed autographs and bottles of their new perfume, Beckham Signature For Him and Beckham Signature For Her. Victoria wore there over the thigh high black vinyl boots that seemed to defy gravity as they have no heel! How do they work? David Beckham was dressed nattily in a Tom Ford grey striped suit. This fashionable couple walked into Macy's on a lavender (amethyst) carpet that matched the color of their newest perfume line.

Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati, which began in 1976 as a block party, now draws over half a million. The festival's signature event, the World's Largest Kazoo Band and Chicken Dance is a sight to behold!
