Duke's Huntington Beach Restaurant and Barefoot Bar

This restaurant is located at the foot of the historic Huntington Beach Pier. It opened in 1998 and is one of four restaurants that have been named for Duke Kahanamoku. The restaurant's style is Hawaiian beach house ambiance. The menu is trademark Pacific Rim selections.

Local surfing memorabilia adorns the walls, Duke's pays significant homage to its namesake, Duke Kahanamoku. The decor includes many statues, photos, and paintings depicting Duke throughout his extensive, adventurous life.

Duke is the father of modern day surfing. He originated board surfing directly in front of the original Duke's Canoe Club in Waikiki, Hawaii. It made sense to choose Huntington Beach; Duke presided over the first national surf contest on the beach in front of the restaurant. To this day, the annual U.S. Open Surf Championship takes place every summer in front of Duke's Huntington Beach.

Surfboards are categorized based on size: Longboards, Mini Mals and Shortboards. Longboards are between 9 and 10 feet long. Tail types are Pin Tail or Squash Tail. Rail types are Boxy, Standard or Pinched. Fin types are Single Box with Thruster Fins or just Single Box.
