Wine Trees • Great Fundraising Idea - There is a new trend at charity events designed to capitalize on the public's love of wine. With the explosion of small wineries all over the United States, there is a wonderful opportunity to use local wine as a Wine Tree to help raise money for a favored local cause. A Wine Tree is a fundraising activity in which the participants in the event each bring a favorite bottle of wine to donate. At the event, the bottles of wine can be grouped by type of wine and donated as several good size auction items or they can be gathered together as a single large raffle prize. If the Charity Event Coordinator is able to work with a local winery and or a local wine or spirit shop, then the Coordinator can create a list of wines from that winery or wine shop the participants are asked to donate. A very creative way to promote the upcoming charity event is to purchase some of our wild wine novelties and either wear them when you promote the event, or give them away to chosen sponsors.
