This French child, the Terrible

This naughty man, this French child from the 1950s calls himself, "The Terrible Child". In French, it is, "L'Enfant Terrible." His fashions have an edge; his designs have been described as punk meets high fashion.

Gaultier follows a long line of apprentices who have gone on past their mentors to have lines of their own. Yves Saint Laurent worked under Christian Dior, the American Donna Karan was an apprentice to Anne Klein. So why not Jean Paul, who worked for Pierre Cardin?

Speaking of enormous, could Gaultier's sunglasses possibly get any more enormous? Look at how much face coverage there is to this style. It's a shape that combines both Jackie O sunglasses with Elvis Glasses.

He also designed the wardrobe of many films such as The Fifth Element.

He teamed up with the American Madonna once again in 2006, creating the wardrobe for her 2006 Confessions Tour.
