In the early 2000s, the Costa de Mar company began to sponsor an event called, "American Veterans Fish-Off". This event takes place on Veterans Day in November. It is designed to thank military veterans by giving them a day out on the water ocean fishing with a professional guide.

The American Veterans Fish Off is held in Florida. The guide boats float lots of American flags. The group keeps the event relatively small, making it into a smaller, more personal thank you event than you might expect with such a large sponsor.

Costa del mar, oh the sea coast, the brilliant sunshine, the sound of the waves crashing over and over and over . . . that what the name, "Costa del Mar" is supposed to conjure.
