The residences at Club Med Cancun are all single rooms with an outside porch. You may have an oceanfront view or one of the rear lagoon. If you choose the less expensive lagoon view, you will be treated all day to the sights of the water skiers who ski around the lagoon all day long!

There are nine residence buildings on the resort. The names of the residences are all precious gemstone names (in Spanish, of course, after all, you are in Mexico!).

The refrigerator, for example, is not left out on its own to be, well a refrigerator. It is housed in a solid piece of furniture that is actually built up from the ground with a pedestal foot about 6 inches. This means that when you wish to reach for something in the fridge, you don't have to bend over as far as you would if it were not elevated from the floor level.

On the topic of water, guests will receive one 24 oz bottle of water per day in the room. Additional bottles of water are not available, however, at any of the bars on the resort. Additional water is only available at the boutique. You will have to put the additional charges on your account; you probably already know that cash is verboten at Club Med resorts.

To reinforce the choice of building name, the walls of the residence hallways are painted to match their name. The color choices throughout the property are spectacular. Throughout the entire resort, the designers selected the perfect level of color and vibrancies. In each case, as in the photograph above, the hallway of the residence Granate (garnet red), the color of the paint is intense but the intensity level stops just before it gets tacky or intolerable.

This resort was wrecked by Hurricane Wilma but what a comeback. Our hurricane sunglasses won't hurt you a bit! You'll make more friends!

The linens used for both bedding and bath are lush. The bed linens are all a crisp white with a high thread count and silky finish. Each bed is equipped with a blanket as well as a comforter.

Pillows are generous. Each room includes a headrest with built in reading lights on either side. Club Med's interior designers spent a lot of time on the small details that help to make a vacationer's time spent in the room more delightful.

July 2008 - James Bond wannabes can now spy on anyone and anything in your surroundings just by wearing a pair of mp4 sunglasses. Yes, they are pricey, but you can now purchase sunglasses with a video recorder embedded in the sunglasses frame. The lens is located just above the nose. The video records everything the wearer sees in 3gp format which can be converted into mp4 format then loaded up to youtube. Great for video bloggers!

July 2008 - Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, is teaming up with Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier to launch a clothing line in the Fall of 2008. The clothing line will be sold at Kitson, the store of choice for the world's pop culture celebrities. Super red hot designer Christian Audigier is opening up another one of his stores in Las Vegas this summer and to increase his own mystique, he is opening a nightclub in Sin City at the Treasure Island Hotel. The club will be called, "The Nightclub" and will opening On July 4th and we would not be surprised if Michael Jackson re-emerges at the Opening Night party.

June 2008 - Ray Ban breaks new color ground next month when they release their first ever pastel colored Ray Bans. The pastel color Wayfarers are being launched in New York City by a promotion that features billboards designed by five NYC-based artists. The company plans to unveil the billboards on July 1st and promises that one of them will "stop traffic". Ray Ban is hoping for a big summer hit with this latest trend in Wayfarer color.
