It sounds simple. A keg of beer and a couple of beer mugs, and poof those are all the supplies you need to host a fraternity party. Maybe you think that beer mugs are a little too fancy for your frat party? OK, we can dumb down to a sleeve of plastic cups! Now that is just for the parties when there is no supply of girls!

If a fraternity is going to host successful parties, they have to do a lot more than just put up a keg and a couple of plates full of cheetos. Sorority girls are very demanding these days and a stinky house and crummy food and drinks won't attract the lovely ladies back to the house. You may get them to come to one party early in the semester, but you won't get them to come back if that's all the supplies the brothers are going to provide for the guests.

The national Greek organization often will provide some of details of decorations and they will supply this to the local chapter for free or at nominal cost.

But for a lot of the down and dirty party supplies, the local chapter is going to develop local knowlege of vendors and great prices. Tablecloths, paper goods, paper cups, plastic cups, cutlery, party streamers even party favors. These are the boring but essential party goods that are the base supplies for a good party.

An often overlooked party supply is cleaning supplies. The fraternity will have appointed a cleaning committee (mostly comprised of first year members) and the responsibility for cleaning up after the party falls on their shoulders.

It is unlikely, indeed, it is safe to say that this committee does not approach its job with great enthusiasm. It is a rotten job. It is the job you get when you have no status or when you are being punished for some kind of transgression against the fraternity. Transgressions in a fraternity are not in any kind of short supply.

The only thing that keeps the cleaning committee happy in the morning after a frat party is these bloody mary glasses!
